Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a patient access\/registration professional to support our care team. You will create the initial electronic health record, register patients, verify insurance, and collect co-pays while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Some travel or flexible scheduling may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• Accurate information gathering at registration to ensure timely payments.
• Confidential handling of patient information per HIPAA.
• Knowledge of medical billing basics and payer plans.
• Ability to explain insurance coverage and patient financial obligations.

Responsibilities

• Create the initial electronic health record for the patient care team.
• Check in and register patients; verify demographics, guarantor and insurance details; collect co-pays.
• Explain financial responsibilities and refer to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Assist patients with appointment scheduling, test preparations, and directions to the facility.
• Provide friendly, professional service and manage high patient volumes with minimal supervision.
