Qualifications

• Two years' experience in Insurance or Patient Registration in a healthcare environment
• Associate or BA degree in a business-related field may substitute for experience, as approved
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• High School Diploma or GED required; higher education preferred
• Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook)
• CHAA certification preferred within 6 months of hire
• Ability to enter data using multiple computer applications
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent telephone skills

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient safety with accurate and timely patient identification
• Complete patient access processes (pre-registration, registration, collections) timely and accurately
• Conduct confidential and professional interviews for patient registration and discharge collections
• Request, collect, and receipt monies according to financial policies
• Activate accounts and disseminate charts appropriately
• Function as Lead for patient access/intake process when Supervisor or Director is not on duty
• Assist in audits, denial reports, and staff education on procedures and processes
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• What You Will Do:** Provide excellent customer service during the patient access/intake process, executing patient access through the continuum of the revenue cycle to support efficiency, cost reduction, and service improvement. Perform duties according to established hospital procedures for the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service.
