Job summary

Nemours seeks a Patient Service Representative II for the Newark Primary Care office to provide front-line service and ensure smooth outpatient visits. You will greet patients using AIDET, verify demographics, schedule follow-ups, manage check-in/out, collect payments, and coordinate with clinical staff to keep wait times down and patient safety high.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3-6 months of job related experience.
• Computer/typing skills required.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and communicate with each patient and family at the start of their outpatient visit using AIDET protocol (acknowledge-introduce-inform about duration-explain-thank).
• Complete check-in/check-out tasks and verify demographics and insurance information to ensure accuracy.
• Confirm authorizations and/or referrals for the visit; fax referrals within 24 hours when needed.
• At check-in, verify patient identity with two identifiers, confirm guardianship, collect and post co-pays, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and communicate clinic status to waiting families using AIDET principles.
• Reconcile payments, complete End of Day reports, and manage end-of-day closings.
• Maintain and use scheduling systems (Iguide), EOD status changes, and clerical workflows.
