Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Preferred: Spanish/English bilingual abilities.
• Experience with EMR systems and scheduling in a medical clinic.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients: collect information, enter data, collect co-pays, create charts.
• Check out patients and address additional needs.
• Schedule appointments via EMR per provider guidelines.
• Answer calls, triage, transfer or leave messages for staff; document inquiries.
• Monitor missed appointments and follow protocol.
• Obtain prior medical records when needed.
• Route faxes, refills, and insurance inquiries.
• Update financial records accurately.
• Maintain organized work area and handle mail daily.
• Close clinic by balancing cash and deposits.
• Process insurance referrals and authorizations.
• Send chart notes to PCPs and patient accounting.
