The role supports admissions and proper billing, working with physicians, nurses, and the hospital system to ensure accurate patient placement and timely processing.

Ideal candidates communicate empathetically, maintain patient privacy, and manage forms and signoffs efficiently while coordinating with the Patient Financial Counselor when necessary.

Qualifications

• Must interact with patients, families, and staff in a courteous, professional manner.
• Ability to collect accurate demographic, guarantor, and insurance information.
• Knowledge of patient privacy and HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receives and interviews patients in a courteous, empathetic, and professional manner.
• Obtains and enters complete and accurate patient demographic, guarantor, and insurance information.
• Ensures forms are completed with signatures, authorizations and consents.
• Reviews insurance information and assigns payor codes to ensure proper billing.
• Assigns patient types and beds per registration type and coordinates with physicians and nurses for accurate placement.
• Ensures physicians are documented in the system when registering patients.
• Monitors patient wait times and registration status to maintain flow.
