Job summary

Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, Kentucky is seeking a part-time Patient Access Clerk for the 3rd shift (11pm-7am), every other weekend and every Monday. You will collect and document patient demographics and insurance information, verify eligibility, and maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include answering phones, using the scheduling system, handling forms, processing co-pays, and scanning paperwork into the EMR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year in a customer-service-related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Computer knowledge and keyboarding experience.
• Able to multitask in a busy environment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document patient demographics and insurance information.
• Assist patients, families, and visitors via phone or in person.
• Explain consent forms and obtain signatures.
• Verify insurance eligibility for all patients.
• Scan patient paperwork into the EMR and maintain confidentiality.
• Answer phone calls and use the scheduling system for designated clinic/office.
• Assist in other Patient Access duties as needed.
