Eye Associates of Vineland, part of Prism Vision Group, is seeking an onsite Patient Services role. This non-exempt position requires accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling at check-in.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communications in English; bilingualism is a plus.
• 2+ years experience in a patient-facing healthcare or customer service role preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills; able to work with diverse populations.
• Cash handling and basic math skills for billing and payments.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full registration for patients requesting appointments with attention to detail.
• Initiate pre-registration and ensure demographic and insurance information is up to date.
• Verify insurance information, benefits, and referrals.
• Obtain ID and insurance cards and verify patient identity and coverage.
• Adhere to HIPAA standards for privacy and confidentiality.
• Facilitate patient flow through the care process and provide policy information.
• Provide upfront financial counseling and discuss payment plans with patients.
• Inform patients of financial obligations and collect funds per guidelines.
• Serve as liaison for patients, physicians, and staff to resolve issues.
• Notify staff of appointment times, referrals, and prior authorization needs.
• Train other patient services representatives and maintain excellent customer service.
• Comply with company policies and standards.
