Job summary

Fast Pace Health seeks a Patient Care Specialist to provide administrative support for effective patient care under supervision of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. You will greet, register, and discharge patients, manage demographics and insurance details, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance plans such as co-pays and deductibles.

Qualifications

1 Year of medical office experience with basic medical terminology and insurance knowledge preferred.
Level 2/3 require 3 years’ experience in billing and coding and intermediate computer skills (70–100 wpm typing) and MS Office (Word/Excel).
High School Diploma or equivalent with CPR license* and 1–3 years of relevant experience depending on level.

Responsibilities

Greet, register, and discharge all patients with high level of customer service.
Cross-train and assist with back-office duties within scope of practice.
Input patient demographics and financial information at registration.
Verify and update patient insurance information at registration.
Maintain knowledge of medical insurance plans including co-pays and deductibles.
Coordinate medical records and ensure continuation of care.
Support new employee training and onboarding activities.
