Job summary

AdventHealth in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a full-time Patient Access/Financial Counselor role. Schedule: Monday-Friday 4pm-12:30am with rotating weekends/holidays. You will perform Medicare reviews, estimate patient responsibility, verify eligibility, and register patients to ensure smooth care access.

The position requires a high school diploma (associate preferred), strong customer service and HIPAA knowledge, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• 1+ year of customer service experience in healthcare preferred.
• Understanding of HIPAA rules and medical terminology encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and notice processing.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Register patients accurately and minimize duplicate records.
• Coordinate with departments to improve the patient experience.
• Provide coverage for PBX and handle cash reconciliation.
