Job summary

Tucson Medical Center’s TMCOne Obstetrics Rincon is seeking a Patient Access Services Representative to manage patient registrations, scheduling, and insurance verification in a busy clinic setting.

You will handle phones, pre-screening, and billing tasks, coordinating with physicians and departments to ensure accurate records and smooth patient flow while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; vocational medical office training preferred.
• 1 year of medical office and/or hospital experience, including healthcare eligibility and benefit analysis or scheduling for diagnostic testing and/or surgery.
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA) may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits excellent customer service with patients, visitors and staff and supports TMCH values.
• Collects deposits or deductibles; explains insurance benefits and estimated costs.
• Performs patient registration to ensure accurate biographical and financial data in hospital records.
• Handles insurance processing and verification, including authorizations and follow-ups on denials.
• Schedules procedures and coordinates with physicians and departments to avoid conflicts.
• Communicates with departments/physicians for special requests and emergent cases.
• Explains procedure preparations to patients and ensures proper readiness for hospital visits.
