Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital or medical office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake and registration with accuracy and timely data entry.
• Identify and verify payer information and benefits eligibility.
• Collect patient financial responsibility at the point of service.
• Read and document notes in patient accounts and ensure timely chart updates.
• Provide explanations to patients and obtain signatures as appropriate.
• Scan and attach IDs, insurance cards, and other documents to patient records.
• Maintain proficiency with systems and devices used in Patient Access.
• Coordinate precertifications and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Assist with pre-registration duties and transport when required.
• Meet departmental quality, collections, and registration time goals.
• Respond to emails and perform general clerical duties in the Patient Access Office.
