Job summary

AssistRx is seeking a Patient Access Specialist in Orlando to process applications, introduce assistance programs, and conduct benefit investigations for patients. The role involves navigating reimbursement issues, entering patient data, and coordinating with insurers to verify benefits.

You will leverage healthcare provider communications to resolve coverage questions, support pilots and special projects, and ensure accurate data flow across systems.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
• 2–4 years of benefit investigation experience preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience interacting with healthcare providers regarding health insurance plan requirements preferred.
• Pharmacy/health insurance or MD office experience preferred.
• Exposure to enrollment, pre-assessment and benefits processes preferred.
• Part D claim experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and initiate contact to introduce services.
• Gather patient data and review insurance benefits.
• Record call details in patient data system.
• Contact insurers for verification of benefits.
• Handle difficult patient situations when they arise.
• Conduct follow-up with pharmacies.
• Identify and report adverse events as required.
• Identify, document and report safety information.
