Job summary

Actalent in Liberty Lake, WA seeks a Patient Authorization Representative to initiate and manage external and internal referrals and insurance authorizations. You will communicate with medical offices and insurers to ensure timely processing while supporting patient access in a collaborative health-system environment.

You will use EPIC, manage work queues, and maintain accurate patient and referral records, delivering professional service in a team-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Customer service focus with patient access emphasis.
• Experience in patient registration and scheduling in healthcare.
• EPIC experience is required.
• Experience using EPIC work queues for referrals and authorizations.
• At least one year in a medical office handling insurance authorizations.
• Ability to operate a multi-line phone system.
• Strong organization for preparing and retrieving records.
• Ability to scan, fax, and handle electronic documents accurately.
• Fluency in English for all communications and documentation.
• Ability to follow compliance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Process provider referrals accurately per procedures.
• Obtain insurance authorizations for patient services.
• Scan and fax documents to support workflows.
• Maintain patient and referral records timely and accurately.
• Respond to written and electronic referrals and authorizations.
• Manage calls with a multi-line phone system.
• Adhere to compliance standards and policies.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to resolve issues.
