Rome Health is seeking a full-time Patient Access Advisor to join our care team in Rome, NY. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling accurate registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance while delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities include verifying eligibility, collecting co-pays, scheduling appointments, and maintaining compliant patient records. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in hospital, ambulatory, or medical office setting preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic clinical and computer skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and collect demographics and insurance information.
• Explain forms and obtain patient signatures where needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; document prior authorizations.
• Obtain or validate authorizations for procedures, including high-cost meds.
• Validate medical necessity for ordered services.
• Collect patient co-pays, deductibles, and other payments at point of service.
• Ensure physician orders are complete and compliant with policies.
• Maintain accurate patient records per regulatory and payer requirements.
• Deliver compassionate, professional customer service to patients and families.
• Schedule outpatient appointments and procedures; coordinate with providers and departments.
