Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Associate for a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule (10:30 AM – 7:00 PM). The role emphasizes patient intake, insurance verification, and coordination with case managers within a large multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to support HIPAA and other regulations.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with patients and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in English; able to interact professionally with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, verify identity and insurance, collect information and demographics.
• Answer phones, scan documents, and use EMR and eligibility tools.
• Notify case managers and document referrals in the system.
• Provide financial counseling, estimates, and collect payments.
• Verify basic eligibility and coverage for patients.
