Job summary

Shields Health Solutions is seeking a Patient Support Advocate in Rhode Island to help patients access medications, navigate insurance requirements, and secure financial assistance. You will support prior authorizations, data entry, and coordination across pharmacy systems, ensuring accurate records and high-quality patient care.

The role requires at least 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience, strong customer service, and familiarity with insurance claims and pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Strong customer service and patient communication skills.
• Experience with insurance claims, medication access, prior authorizations, or pharmacy operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with insurance companies to facilitate medication approvals through prior authorizations.
• Help patients access financial assistance through foundations and programs to reduce high-cost medications.
• Navigate pharmacy systems to enter data, adjudicate claims, process refills, and create follow-up plans.
• Document patient concerns, prior authorization status, and financial assistance needs across databases and EMR systems.
• Collaborate with physicians’ offices to ensure timely medication therapy and maintain accurate records.
