Job summary

Shields Health Solutions is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to serve as a Patient Support Advocate in Rhode Island. You will help patients navigate insurance, arrange financial assistance, and support adherence while handling data across systems.

The role combines advocacy, prior authorization support, and pharmacy operations to improve access to medications and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience or equivalent
• Strong customer service and patient communication skills
• Experience with insurance claims, prior authorizations, or pharmacy operations preferred

Responsibilities

• Communicate with insurance companies to facilitate prior authorizations
• Help patients access financial assistance through foundations and manufacturer programs
• Navigate pharmacy systems to enter data, adjudicate claims, and process refills
• Document patient concerns and status updates across databases and EMR
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure timely medication therapy
• Maintain accurate records of patient communications and case activity
• Assist patients with managing pharmacy insurance claims and coverage issues
