Job summary

Shields Health Solutions in New Hampshire is seeking a Patient Support Advocate and Licensed Pharmacy Technician to help patients access medications and navigate insurance, prior authorizations, and financial assistance.

In this role you will support adherence, manage data across systems, and partner with pharmacists to deliver high-quality patient care. The position may require occasional travel and offers competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Strong customer service and patient communication skills.
• Experience working with insurance claims, medication access, prior authorizations, or pharmacy operations preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with insurance companies to facilitate medication approvals via prior authorizations.
• Help patients access financial assistance through foundations, manufacturer programs, and other resources.
• Navigate pharmacy systems to enter data, adjudicate claims, process refills, and create follow-up plans.
• Document patient concerns and status updates across databases and EMR.
• Assist patients in managing pharmacy insurance claims and resolve coverage issues.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons to deliver coordinated care.
• Provide phone support to patients to improve adherence.
• Research and analyze information to support decision-making.
• Manage and maintain data within database applications.
• Identify trends and suggest process improvements.
• Protect confidential information and ensure privacy compliance.
• Stay current on industry knowledge through education, publications, and networking.
• Occasional travel as needed.
