Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.
• Required within 90 days of hire; BLS (AHA) and AB508 certifications

Responsibilities

• Interviews & registers patients in a professional manner.
• Accurately enters information and completes the registration process
• Ensures MRN numbers are unique and avoids duplicates
• Completes admission registration in a timely manner
• Obtains signatures and distributes them appropriately
• Records data on department logs with accuracy
• Scans admitting documents and indexes them correctly
• Collects monies and issues receipts with accuracy
• Makes collection attempts for financial liability
• Provides excellent customer service
• Answers inquiries by telephone politely
• Verifies insurance eligibility for every patient
• Documents eligibility, collections, and pertinent information in patient accounts
• Performs all other duties as assigned
