Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital seeks a friendly Medical Assistant to support patient registration, pre-procedure prep, and scheduling within the Urology department. You will gather vital signs, document clinical data, and help coordinate care with physicians and insurance providers.

Greet patients, ensure confidentiality, and maintain accurate records while assisting with basic diagnostic tasks and ensuring a smooth patient flow through the clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required/preferred
• ABR-OE credential within 120 days
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification within 90 days
• No prior work experience required

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic data
• Schedule and adjust appointments and diagnostic testing
• Record vital signs and basic clinical data
• Assist with patient prep for procedures and tests
• Manage patient records and release information per policy
• Coordinate with insurance companies and external facilities
• Use computer systems to enter and verify patient information
• Keep exam areas clean and stocked and ensure equipment readiness
