Job summary

Wellstar Health System in the United States seeks a detail-oriented medical transcriptionist to support pathology reporting and case management. You will transcribe gross and microscopic dictations, manage patient demographics, and prepare CAP forms for tumor pathology cases, while coordinating consultations and billing documentation.

Under supervision of the department manager, you will mentor new staff, adhere to SOPs, and contribute to process improvements in the pathology workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• Six months transcription experience in medical setting with pathology experience preferred.
• Formal medical transcribing experience preferred; CAP forms familiarity useful.

Responsibilities

• Transcription of gross and microscopic pathology reports.
• Handle patient demographics and related documentation.
• Prepare CAP tumor anatomical forms based on diagnoses.
• Coordinate case materials for consultation and peer review.
• Assist with billing-related documentation for slides/blocks.
• Support pathologists and histology staff; respond to queries.
