Qualifications

• Two years medical transcription experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology used in pathology.
• Accurate typing skills with precise hand to eye coordination.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to self-direct and exercise independent judgment in complex tasks.
• Works well in a team environment to support department goals.

Responsabilités

• Assist pathologists in turning out pathology reports by transcription.
• Gather patient history and distribute reports.
• Interact with staff and physicians regarding results or special requests.
• Coordinate patient needs for continued care.
• Maintain quality assurance reports; maintain manuals and correspondence.
• Work closely with pathologists, oncologists and surgeons.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
