About the Position

Department: Laboratory

Hours: Part-Time / 24 hours (Benefits eligible)

Shift: Days, 1st shift

Shift Details: 9:30am-6:00pm, 2 weekdays (flexible with days), and every Saturday required

Position Summary

The Pathologists' Assistant, under general direction, collects and prepares surgical specimens for examination; dictates gross anatomic features of specimens; assists with dissection and preparation of tissue sections; photographs organs and specimens; dictates clinical summaries and gross autopsy findings; assists in preparation of preliminary diagnoses; and oversees proper maintenance and operation of instruments and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• ASCP certification as a Pathologist Assistant

Preferred Qualifications

• Approximately 2 years of relevant experience, including Frozen Sections
• Knowledge of current AP Laboratory Information System
