Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Medical Director to provide strategic direction for AP/CP laboratories, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care. The role leads pathology teams, collaborates with executives, and aligns projects with the service line and organizational goals.

The position oversees budgets, productivity, and overall performance while partnering with clinical staff to improve outcomes across the health system.

Qualifications

• Must hold medical license in Minnesota as required by CLIA and state regulations.
• Clinical practice experience demonstrating quality improvement and patient experience.
• Ability to lead in a large, matrixed health system.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical direction for AP and/or CP laboratories in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Lead care teams to achieve organizational mission and strategic goals.
• Oversee department strategy, budgets, productivity and performance.
• Collaborate with pathology staff, clinicians, and leadership on patient care initiatives.
