PhenoPath Laboratories, a Quest DiagnosticsCompany, seeks a Medical Director for its Seattle pathology operation. The role combines clinical directorship with anatomic pathology sign-out across two Optum Washington sites, ensuring high-quality lab services and patient care.

The position requires M.D./D.O. with AP/CP board certification, WA license, and 3–5+ years of surgical pathology sign-out experience, including GI and breast biopsies.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with board certification in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology.
• Unrestricted WA State Medical License or ability to obtain.
• 3–5+ years post-residency surgical pathology sign-out experience.
• Experience with GI, breast biopsy sign-out; subspecialty fellowship a plus.
• Experience supervising high complexity testing in inpatient/outpatient lab.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site pathologist coverage at two Seattle, WA and Everett, WA clinic sites.
• General surgical pathology sign-out focusing on GI and breast biopsies; including GI and breast biopsy diagnoses.
• Frozen section diagnoses and peripheral blood smear evaluations.
• Collaborate with PhenoPath and Optum staff; share pathology calls and ensure coverage.
• Participate in committees and develop informational materials.
• Maintain licensing/accreditation and engage in CME activities.
• Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
