Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform clerical and technical duties under supervision. Responsibilities include accessioning, centrifugation, and communication with clinicians at the Front Window and by phone.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting. Position is onsite at 75 Francis Street with an evening shift.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with labeling, preservation and fixation of specimens.
• Work with technologists to ensure specimens are processed timely and accurately.
• Monitor reagent and supply inventory.
• Organize patient specimen and worksheet for testing.
• Use LIMS to upload documents and input data or comments.
• Clean and maintain lab equipment.

Responsibilities include receipt, accessioning, centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens, and communicating with clinicians at the Front Window and over the phone.Does this position require Patient Care?
