Job summary

Eisenhower Health is seeking a pathology support professional to assist with specimen handling, slide preparation, and report entry in the pathology lab. You will coordinate between pathology, reference labs, and clinical staff to ensure accurate processing and documentation.

You will maintain records, manage requisitions, and support billing and administrative tasks while upholding compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to organize information for easy retrieval.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens and completes requisitions for reference labs and consults with pathologist review.
• Prepares and logs reports into EMR for all reference lab tests.
• Retrieves faxes, distributes orders and test results to staff; processes emailed orders.
• Packs materials for shipping and maintains slides/blocks for consults with histology.
• Maintains reagents and disinfects work areas and instrumentation as needed.
• Performs billing duties and assists with clinical trial materials.
