Job summary

BMCHS is seeking a part-time Lab Support Technician in the Pathology Lab to handle specimen processing, labeling, and assay preparation. The role requires attention to detail, reliable communication with clinicians and patients, and adherence to confidentiality standards.

You will work under the supervision of the Laboratory Support Services Supervisor, providing quality laboratory support, training junior staff, and ensuring accurate documentation and timely reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; one year of laboratory/specimen processing experience preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Willingness to train and guide less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and ensure proper identification and labeling.
• Prepare workstation with necessary supplies for smooth processing.
• Maintain equipment temperatures and perform routine maintenance.
• Document and communicate results and issues to supervisors.
• Respect confidentiality and follow department policies.
