Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Part Time Lab Support Technician in the Pathology Lab to process and prepare specimens, verify identifications, and maintain equipment. You will play a key role in delivering quality patient-focused service and supporting pathologists with accurate data.
Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma and at least one year of laboratory experience. The role offers patient-oriented collaboration and opportunities for growth within a busy hospital setting.
Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Support Services Supervisor, the LST is responsible for providing quality customer oriented laboratory services including specimen procurement, specimen processing and related specialized procedures, and service to effectively communicate information to users of the Laboratory Services in order to ensure the department is able to operate efficiently and to successfully fulfill its mission. LSTs also provide training and guidance to less experienced laboratory support technicians.
The Lab Support Technician bridges the gap between clinical staff and pathologists. They process incoming surgical and biological specimens, manage laboratory equipment, and maintain meticulous records. Their duties ensure pathologists have correctly prepared samples and clinical data to diagnose diseases and conditions accurately.
