Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR, seeks a Supervisor Laboratory to lead the Department of Pathology, oversee Surgical and Autopsy Pathology staff, and ensure high-quality examinations.

Under general supervision, the supervisor performs and assists in human post-mortem and surgical pathology, institutes procedures, and collaborates with the Supervising Pathologist to maintain standards and patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a NAACLS accredited degree for Pathologists' Assistant (bachelors or masters).
• National Certification from ASCP required upon hire.
• Minimum of 5 years in a surgical pathology department.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Surgical and Autopsy Pathology staff and procedures.
• Perform and assist in human post-mortem and surgical pathology exams.
• Initiate and institute procedures under Supervising Pathologist direction.
• Collaborate with pathology team to maintain quality standards.

Education

Bachelor's Degree from NAACLS Accredited Training Program for the Pathologists' Assistant

Master's Degree from NAACLS Accredited Training Program for the Pathologists' Assistant
