Qualifications

• Knowledge of anatomic pathology computer system functions.
• Interpersonal and verbal communication skills with pathologists, students, residents.
• Written communication to prepare case summaries and reports.
• Gross dissection procedures using surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical and autopsy specimens for microscopic examination.
• Oversight of daily operation of the Pathology Surgical Suite.
• Train and supervise section staff; provide lead direction.
• Assist in postmortem examinations.
• Develop and maintain section procedures and manuals.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist in budget, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate with other department laboratories and staff.
• Accessioning, billing and coding as assigned.
