Job summary

Diversity Inc. seeks a Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service to lead clinical, research, and education goals, reporting to the Chief of Staff. The position oversees the full range of pathology services and ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.

The incumbent will mentor residents, coordinate academic activities, and collaborate with executive leadership on policy and resource planning. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role within a VA medical center.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from a school approved for the year of completion.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US.
• Residency training in an ACGME- or AOA-approved program leading to board eligibility.
• Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Pathology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain licensure and credentials to practice pathology within Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, Immunology, Serology, Microbiology, and Phlebotomy.
• Perform clinical duties related to patient care for at least 25% of duty hours.
• Oversee development of program activities, services, records, schedules, policies, and education resources.
• Convene staff meetings to promote effective functioning and collaborate with leadership on policies and resource planning.
• Mentor and teach residents, trainees, providers, and staff; develop courses and educational programs.
