Job summary

The VA Fargo Health Care System seeks a full-time Physician - Associate Chief of Staff for Pathology and Lab to lead pathology and laboratory services within the Medical Center. The role includes organizing, guiding clinical and administrative operations, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care for Veterans.

The incumbent will supervise staff and collaborate with leaders to optimize resources, policies, and performance across the Diagnostic ICC and VISN-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship or eligibility under VA policy.
• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Residency in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility.
• Board certification for faculty status may be required.
• Willingness to work leadership and administrative duties in pathology and lab.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership for pathology and laboratory services.
• Oversee organization, delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness of care.
• Supervise pathologists, lab chief, and other clinical staff as assigned.
• Coordinate schedules, performance measures, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with ICC leadership to optimize resource use and care delivery.
• Serve as advisor to pathologists and ICC leadership on policy and operations.
