Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Pathology Laboratory Assistant I to perform clerical and technical duties under supervision in the microbiology laboratory. The role involves handling patient specimens, LIS data entry, and adherence to safety policies.

You will support technologists, assist with specimen processing, and help maintain accurate records while ensuring quality control and proper documentation in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with lab and hospital staff.
• Proficiency with LIS and data entry; accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety policies and infection control procedures.
• Enter patient data and test results into LIS; resolve identification issues.
• Prepare and label specimens for analysis; handle and process samples.
• Answer lab telephones and respond to inquiries; communicate results as needed.
• Assist technicians and supervisors; maintain inventory and organize samples.
