Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Pathology Laboratory Assistant to join our onsite Newton, MA laboratory on a part-time basis. You will perform clerical and technical duties, handle specimen receipt and processing, and collaborate with technologists to ensure timely, accurate testing.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma and 1-2 years of lab, healthcare, or customer service experience, plus strong communication and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years laboratory, healthcare, or customer service experience.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with labeling, preservation and fixation of specimens.
• Work closely with technologists to ensure specimens are processed timely and accurately.
• Monitor reagent and supply inventory.
• Organize patient specimen and assay worksheets/printouts for testing and technologist review.
• Use LIMS to upload documents and input critical data or comments.
• Clean and maintain lab equipment.
• Stock lab supplies and track inventory.
• Other lab related duties as needed.
