Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support pathology staff in answering calls, daily maintenance, data entry, and filing. The role emphasizes accurate accessioning, labeling, and processing of tissue samples under supervision.

Responsibilities include staining, slide distribution to pathologists, and maintaining compliance with CLIA/CAP standards. A high school diploma or GED is required, with AS preferred; one year in a lab setting is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate of Science preferred.
• One year experience in laboratory setting preferred.
• Must be reliable with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Accessioning and labeling of tissue samples.
• Process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
• Prepare reagents for tissue processing and staining under supervision.
• Perform routine H&E staining manually or automated.
• Distribute slides to pathologists.
• File blocks and slides; filing paperwork.
• Specimen pickup as needed.
• Perform cover slipping of slides.
• Maintain clean, organized work area.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality control and regulations.
