Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a Consultation Service Representative to receive, accession, triage, deliver, and return outside case materials to support consultations from outside facilities and patient transfers for continuity of care.

The Consultation Service team also provides specimen processing support for the Department of Pathology NLNC, including receipt, processing, tracking, and transport of anatomic and clinical laboratory specimens and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to Service Excellence.
• Demonstrated dependable work habits and attendance.
• Ability to perform timely and accurate data entry.
• Good problem-solving, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and be on feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, triage, deliver, and return outside case materials for consultations.
• Enter data accurately into Lab information and tracking systems; verify contents.
• Resolve accessioning issues and document findings in CRM platforms.
• Work as part of a team in a production environment with workflow changes.
• Handle receipt, transport, processing, tracking, and distribution of specimens.
• Maintain quality control including temperature checks on storage equipment.
