Qualifications

• Master's Degree Pathologists' Assistant required.
• Pathologists' Assistant (PA(ASCP)) – ASCP preferred.
• Related experience 1–2 years required.
• Extensive knowledge of human anatomy and tumor staging guidelines.
• Ability to lift approximately 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Dictates gross description and dissection of surgical specimens.
• Selects and submits tissue sections for microscopic examination.
• Instructs residents and students in gross description and sampling.
• Assists in collecting tissue for teaching, research, and tissue/tumor banking.
• Oversees specimen storage and record-keeping.
• Ensures proper authorization for postmortem examinations.
