Job summary
Sagis is seeking an experienced Pathology Assistant to support pathologists through gross examination and dissection of surgical and autopsy specimens. The PA will ensure proper handling, labeling, and documentation for accurate diagnostic analysis in a clinical laboratory setting.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pathology Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
- ASCP Pathologists’ Assistant certification preferred.
- 1–2 years of pathology lab experience; new grads with relevant training may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under pathologist supervision.
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination following protocols.
- Document gross descriptions, measurements, and procedures accurately.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff for labeling, storage, and transfer of tissues.
- Participate in quality control and report discrepancies.
- Assist with PA student and tech mentoring in complex cases.
- Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations; maintain compliance.
- Communicate findings with pathologists and surgeons.
