Job summary

Laboratory - Pathology Assistant position at Cynet Health in Morgantown, WV for 13 weeks. Duties include grossing tissue specimens, handling and cutting frozens, and assisting in gross room operations. The daily volume averages around 160 cases and 700 blocks with variant case complexity.

Qualifications

• ASCP Certification as Pathologists' Assistant required
• Experience in an academic medical center preferred
• Completion of Pathologists' Assistant program preferred
• Ability to gross simple and complex tissue specimens

Responsibilities

• Work in gross room locations and support specimen processing
• Handle and cut frozens; 5-10 frozens per day as part of duties
• Census ~160 cases per day; ~700 blocks per day; vary by case complexity
• No on-call or standby requirements; training provided by current Pathology Assistants
