Cynet Health is seeking a Pathology Assistant for a 9-month term in White Plains, NY. The position is day shift, with 8-hour shifts, and requires a minimum of 1 year of experience along with a client license. ASCP certification is preferred.

Duties include gross examination, dissection, tissue preparation, accessioning, and pathology data management. Under the supervision of a pathologist, you will describe gross features, prepare sections, and assist with post-mortem work as needed.

Qualificações

• B.S. degree in Biology or related science with certification of Pathologists Assistant Program or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Client license required

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens under the supervision of a pathologist.
• Describe gross anatomic features and dissect surgical specimens.
• Prepare tissue sections for microscopic examination, including frozen and permanent sections.
• Ensure proper specimen accessioning and labeling of surgical pathology specimens.
• Obtain case history, laboratory data, and copies of scans and X-rays when indicated.
• Assist in coding gross specimens during gross description.
• Organize and coordinate the anatomic pathology grossing for all specimens for grossing tables.
• Update and use Voice Recognition templates as needed.
• Troubleshoot Voice Recognition issues.
• Assist in the preparation and performance of post-mortem examinations when needed.
• Accurately enter required information on the laboratory information system.
