Albany Med is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to join the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Albany Medical Center. You will participate in education and laboratory practice, perform gross examinations, sampling, intraoperative consultation support, and mentoring of pathology residents, all within a busy

Qualifications

• Perform gross examination, description, dissection and sampling of a broad spectrum of surgical pathology specimens.
• Evaluate and prepare tissue for intraoperative consultation and frozen section with pathologists.
• Photograph and document gross specimens and ensure accurate orientation and submission.
• Teach and mentor pathology residents and learners in grossing and surgical pathology technique.

Responsibilities

• Work with subspecialty pathologists, residents, histology staff and lab leadership in a busy academic environment.
• Contribute to quality improvement, procedure development, validation and educational initiatives.
