Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interact with surgical staff to determine exact timing of specimen excision and collect specimens from the OR.
• Assist Directors and Managers in optimizing core pathology functions.
• Assist in designing and testing protocols to expedite specimen collection and data processing.
• Coordinate to acquire tissue quickly (under 30 minutes) and work with tissue banking staff to store specimens and link data.
• Bank tissue following decision processes when possible.
• Perform diagnostic exams to determine what portions of specimens are not needed for diagnosis in coordination with attending pathologists.
