Qualifications

• Successful completion of NAACLA accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Performs gross examination and dissection of surgical biopsies and large complicated specimens, maintaining specimen integrity and accurate identification.
• Provides intra-operative consultations and prepares cryostat sections and slides for timely review.
• Prepares materials for imaging and photographs, maintains imaging equipment and files, and organizes radiology records.
• Assists with orientation and instruction of residents and medical students in Surgical Pathology and Autopsy procedures, providing feedback.
• Participates in quality and process improvement efforts and supports laboratory safety procedures per regulatory standards.
