Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Evanston Hospital is seeking a Pathologist Assistant for per diem coverage. You will work under pathologists to prepare specimens for microscopic evaluation, perform gross dissections, and assist with intra-operative consultations.

Ideal candidates hold a NAACLS-approved Pathologists’ Assistant Master’s degree and ASCP PA certification; new grads are welcome, with 3–5 years preferred. Per diem schedule offers flexible hours and paid benefits opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program.
• ASCP Certification (PA) required.
• 3–5 years of experience preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for microscopic evaluation with gross description and dissection.
• Perform special handling (flow cytometry, IHC, radiology, research procurement).
• Perform frozen sections and intra-operative consultations per protocol.
