Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a qualified Pathologists’ Assistant for the Anatomic Pathology Lab. The role is 100% onsite in the greater Chicagoland area, focused on dissections, assisting diagnosis, and training residents.

The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s degree from an NAACLS-accredited program and relevant ASCP certification. This position includes responsibilities such as managing surgical specimens and contributing to quality improvement processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Graduate of an NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program (Master’s degree) or equivalent training.
• Pathologists’ Assistant Certification (or eligibility) through ASCP.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gross pathology dissection and diagnosis.
• Train and guide residents and technicians.
• Participate in quality improvement and process evaluation.
