Job summary

University Hospitals in Cleveland seeks a Pathologists' Assistant to support high-volume surgical pathology in an academic medical center. You will perform gross examination and dissection from biopsies to complex resections, prepare tissue for microscopic evaluation, and perform frozen sections while maintaining accurate documentation and PHI safety.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Pathologists' Assistant required or
• Bachelor's Degree in a biological science and relevant training required.
• PA-ASCP eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Perform macroscopic dissection and description of specimens from biopsies to large resections.
• Prepare tissue for microscopic examination and sectioning.
• Procure and process tissue for ancillary studies (cytogenetics, immunofluorescence, research).
• Perform frozen sections for intraoperative consultation and initial diagnostic testing.
• Document and label specimens with proper chain of custody.
