Nicklasstaffing in Northeastern Pennsylvania seeks a Pathologists’ Assistant for a 13-week, hospital-based assignment. The role supports a collaborative pathology department with surgical workload and autopsy services.

Requirements include a NAACLS-accredited PA master’s degree and ASCP PA certification or eligibility. Prior hospital/lab experience and familiarity with Epic Beaker LIS are preferred.

Qualifications

• NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant master’s degree required.
• ASCP PA certification or eligibility; certification within six months.
• Minimum of one year of hospital or reference laboratory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic Beaker LIS and voice dictation systems a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed gross dissection and description of a wide range of surgical specimens.
• Assist in the performance and documentation of autopsies.
• Photograph gross specimens and maintain image records for clinical and teaching purposes.
• Ensure specimen integrity and accurate labeling throughout the process.
• Collaborate with pathology residents, medical students, and histotechnologists.
• Participate in departmental QA/QC activities to maintain compliance with CAP standards.

Job Location: Northeastern Pennsylvania

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM

Start Date: January 11, 2027

End Date: April 9, 2027

Duration: 13 weeks

Weekly Estimated Pay or Pay Range: $3,300 - $3,700+

Join an established hospital-based pathology team supported by six board-certified clinical and anatomical pathologists.
