Job summary

Veterans Health Administration in Washington, DC seeks a Physician–Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist to provide direct medical care, interpret tissue/cytology specimens, and guide patient management at the VA Medical Center.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree from LCME/COCA-accredited schools.
• For foreign medical graduates, ECFMG eligibility must be demonstrated.
• Full and unrestricted medical licensure in a US state or territory.

Responsibilities

• Interprets routine tissue specimens and intraoperative consultations to establish diagnoses.
• Provides medical direction of clinical laboratories and oversees quality assurance.
• Educates pathology residents and medical students; participates in clinical and/or basic research.
• Performs leadership/administrative duties to support laboratory operations and compliance.
