Job summary
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Buffalo VA Health Care System, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service, is seeking a physician with MD/DO to provide diagnostic pathology services including anatomic and clinical pathology, sign-out duties, and on-call coverage.
The role includes teaching residents and fellows, and participation in quality assurance and CME to maintain licensure. EDRP and education debt reduction programs are highlighted.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Physician board certification as required by VA for faculty status (pathology)
- Educational/licensing requirements to practice in the United States
Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic services in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
- Sign out surgical pathology and cytopathology diagnoses
- Perform grossing of AP specimens and review gross descriptions
- Provide intraoperative and intraprocedural consultation as requested
- Participate in quality assurance measures and CME to maintain licensure
- Provide 24-hour on-call services as designated in the schedule
- Contribute to resident and trainee education in pathology
- Engage in interdisciplinary conferences (Tumor Board, Chest Conference, GI Conference)
- Support autopsy processing and reporting with clinicopathologic correlation
